Place the incense holder on a stable, level, heat-resistant, nonflammable surface in a well-ventilated area, away from anything that can catch fire.
Secure one incense stick in the holder.
Light the tip of the incense stick.
Once the tip has ignited, extinguish the flame so the incense is left smoldering and producing fragrant smoke.
Allow the ash to fall into the holder.
When finished, ensure the incense is completely extinguished and cool before discarding any remains.
Use one stick at a time.
